Information About The Crash
CIAA learned about an October 8, 2023 car/bicycle crash on Jackson Ave. from the November, 2023 city administrator’s report.

The UD-10 report describes how the cyclist was eastbound on Jackson Ave. in the bike lane. A westbound driver turned left onto Burwood, hitting the cyclist and injuring his left leg.

A visit to the site of the crash on March 17, 2024 shows that this area has changed little since CIAA visited there in January, 2023, following a serious pedestrian crash at the same intersection.
The UD-10 lists “Glare” as a contributing factor. The crash happened in late afternoon and it makes sense that westbound drivers would see the setting sun ahead of them. A citation was issued to the driver.
